The most innovative and attractive feature of the new suite is a set of Web-based applications viz. online versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. The suite is slated for release in June.

Microsoft 2010
certainly has a new features, all aimed at greater efficiency and productivity. Perhaps most notably, the Outlook email client has been revamped with more powerful management capabilities, such as the ability to handle threaded conversations. It also has what is called a Social Connector, or the ability to fuse social data from LinkedIn and Facebook. PowerPoint can now be used to make presentations viewable on the Internet. The ribbon interface has been streamlined and has been applied to all applications.

Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010 will offer advances in collaboration and business functionality, including improvements in data analysis and reporting. Office 2010 will be the first version of Microsoft’s Office, which are available in both 32-bit and 64-bit options. However, the 64-bit edition will not have the full functionality of the 32-bit suite. The company said that the apps like third-party Outlook Social Connector add-ons will arrive eventually. Meanwhile, Microsoft recommended that users to stick to the 32-bit edition of Office, even if their PC runs a 64-bit operating system.
